About Me

Hi, I’m Sam.

I spent 7 years working in the autism field at a day program, and somewhere along the way, I found my passion. That work was preparing me for something much bigger—my own family.

In 2020, I became a mom and stepped away from the field. Shortly after, my nephew was diagnosed with autism. Then in 2022, my firstborn got his diagnosis—and that’s when everything changed.

The advocacy started: the paperwork, the long drives to therapies, the constant question of am I doing enough? Learning how to fight, how to show up, and how to be his voice until he finds his own.

Right in the middle of it all, I had my second baby. And once you know the signs—you know. I saw them in my second born, and I fought hard to be heard. In 2025, he received his diagnosis.

Somewhere in all of it, I started to see myself in my kids. That same year, I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD—and everything finally made sense.

I’ve always been creative. Before this, I had two clothing businesses. But after my firstborn’s diagnosis, I needed something that was mine again—something that helped me not lose myself in the process.

So in 2023, I started Damn Good Advocate. Not just to spread awareness—but to help other moms feel less alone, to say the real things, and to turn advocacy into something you can wear proudly.

Learning. Unlearning. Speaking loudly and unapologetically.

Damn Good Advocate.
